What should FPJ smell like ?

I just finished my second batch of the the same material. I'm limited on plant options, so i fermented this grass that has been booming in growth, overtaking my small flower bed. The first batch i fermented for 7 days and it smelled like brown sugar water pretty much. Ive been using it on my plants for a month and havent seen any negative effects from it. Tonight, just stained this material again but let it sit for 2 1/2 weeks. I followed Alika Atay methods here more and it has a distinct vinegar smell. Have i let it sit too long or is this OK ? Thank you.

Gagardner84, Once you make FPJ and ferment it with brown sugar (my favorite is broadleaf plantain and dandelions) it will keep for 1 year, even longer sometimes. If you see mold, add more brown sugar. Store in a cool 65-70F place or keep in your fridge, with a cheese cloth lid to breath. It should smell sweet, sometimes like BBQ even. -Jay
